P.O.Box 1000, Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates
The authority was launched in 1996 with a small group of pioneering environmental scientists who were working in a harsh desert environment. The authority grew, overcame challenges, and launched towards broader horizons of scientific research and continuous efforts to preserve the environment.
We are now the largest specialized environmental authority in the Middle East, and we represent an extension of the rich legacy of the late founder, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, by embodying his values ??of preserving the environment.
Among our most prominent achievements is the establishment of the Zayed Network for Nature Reserves, the registration of 100 species of invertebrates that were not scientifically known before, and the achievement of regional leadership by banning the use of gargoor nets (fishing cages), while our mission is focused on providing advice and providing information in a transparent manner to set and implement environmental policies in the emirate .
But our work does not stop there. It is a work that is as much about the future as it is about the past.
Each year, we carry out thousands of inspections to ensure compliance, assess risks and characterize them to enhance knowledge of environmental risks in the emirate.
Abu Dhabi's prosperity has depended on our natural resources. The environment is our foundation and our history. Join us to achieve a more sustainable future
