Oman Gas Company (OGC) is the Sultanate’s gas transportation company delivering natural gas to the vibrant economic sectors and major consumers comprising of Power and Desalination plants, Aluminum Smelters, downstream metal, Fertilizer & Methanol plants, Refineries, Steel and Cement factories and Oil companies.
OGC was established in 2000 by the Royal Decree No. 78/2000, which has granted concession rights to own, construct, maintain and operate natural gas facilities in the Sultanate of Oman.
In 2013, OGC has become a member of Oman Oil Group with 100% ownership by Oman Oil Company SAOC.
Since its inception in 2000, OGC has grown in stature and reputation into an integrated enterprise harnessing the power of Oman’s natural gas transportation. The Company employs more than 490 people, of whom 90 % are Omanis. At OGC, we take pride in our Omanisation drive having achieved this milestone which put us at the forefront within the Oil and Gas Industry.
OGC’s gas pipeline network is spread across the country with more than 2,500 kilometers of high-pressure transmission pipelines and ancillary facilities along with three gas compressor stations strategically located in Al Buraimi, Fuhud, and Nimr. The Company is receiving gas from PDO, Ara Petroleum, Oxy, OOCEP, PB Kazahan, and Dolphin Energy and has more than 38 customers in representing various industries.
The Company’s future focus is on opportunities to optimise the gas value chain for the Country. As we grow our business in above areas, we recognise that we also have an important obligation to increase our In-Country Value contribution as well as to develop the Sultanate’s Small to Medium Enterprises.
